Keri Straka and Tim McDonald: Internal Blooming and the Ancient Future
November 15 - December 10, 2021
Mazmanian Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of artwork by Keri Straka and Tim McDonald. The sculptures by Straka contemplate, as she puts it, “how internal spaces within the body ‘speak’ through the language of sensation and subtle activity.” McDonald describes his drawings entitled stackshrinesnowswamps or sacralizing the ancient future as “springing from the intersection of wildness and culture.” Seen together, the exhibition poses questions about the effect that close observation can have on our bodily and environmental realities, histories and imaginations.
